Against the Flow

Ready to walk the length of the River Deveron

Now living in the North East of Scotland, Anne studied at both Glasgow School of Art (BA in Ceramics) and Grays School of Art in Aberdeen (Hons in 3D Design).

In 1997 Anne received a Churchill Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.  Her travel fellowship took her to Japan where she developed her interest in Japanese ceramics, aesthetics and design. This brief introduction to Japan forms the foundation of her approach to design and making.

Her practice involves making connections between people, places and objects through walking in the widest sense.  Attracted to the overlooked, under appreciated and quirky nature of everyday things Anne enjoys working with communities, people and groups to meet their goals.
