peat sphere tests

when the peat spheres are bisqued the carbon and other organic material is burnt off and you are left with the inorganic minerals

the minerals make an interesting orange colour and the spheres don’t hold their form

i may get a brownish colour when fired higher, and the tone of this colour could well depend on the thickness of the peat applied and with little clay in the spheres they are more likely to end up tinting the glaze or clay

in order to use the peat as a body i would have to add something to the peat at the wet stage
